This is not something I usually shout about but I have had considerable interest recently because of it, so I thought I should blog about my personal nod to environmental considerations;
I almost always work in natural materials, the most 'unnatural' being concrete. I try to buy a lot of materials at once hence saving petrol. I almost always fire once only with the glaze put onto greenware hence saving a considerable amount of electricity. All of my glazes are totally non-toxic. My studio is powered by solar panels (not my kiln or heating).
I think it is important for each one of us to try to consider how what we do affects the environment and affects other souls. I am by no means perfect but I strive to do my best. Thank you for reading :)
